a couple quick reviews

i can't rely on only me for a perfect sammich. this is the first of my reviews, i plan on doing more when i see fit. i forgot my camera in both of these instances.

first off is a place call chacero, i think, in boston by the commons. the phantom gourmet called this "sandwich perfection" obviously i was intrigued. this is a chilean sandwich shop. this sandwich is on a roll it's got mashed avocado, spicy avocado spread, chicken and or beef, and green beans. it's simple but sounds fantastic, certainly didn't taste fantastic. i'm not saying this is a bad sandwich, not at all. but this is by no means sandwich perfection. the roll was great and spicy avocado spread was an excellent condiment. that being said, the meat was flavorless. very disappointing.

i went to providence to visit some and on the way home i had to stop at one of favorite sandwich shops, east side pocket on thayer street in providence. this is a middle eastern sandwich shop. i had my regular, the chicken kabob pocket with everything on it. i believe everything means ketchup, hotsauce, hummus, lemon sauce, tabouli, lettuce, tomato, pickle, banana peppers, parmesean cheese, and chicken kabob. this is a massive tube of deliciousness. the various sauces and pickles combine to make a sloppy mess like you wouldn't imagine. i give this the ben dufrane seal of approval all the way to bank. the kafka and beef kabob don't quite match up in quality because meat isn't as good as the chicken. i like to get the pita chips and hummus, very good and i take my hummus seriously. also i've tried some of their baklava like desserts and they're good as well. i would recommend this to anyone, even vegetarians; the falafal looks good and it will have that patented slop on it.

*slop is not used as a derogatory term
